I think that my favorite blog was my photostory. I liked doing the photostory because it made me analyze the book further, and think about the events and themes more intensely. I got more from the story from just doing the photostory.
Blogging, I think, is a cool way to show more individuality, and it’s a pretty creative way to pay attention to the story you’re reading than the common reading journals. I like it a lot.

The man is being hung by his tongue, condemned for his words.

This picture is brilliant. It supports the statements I have made towards Tartuffe. The palm of the hand reads hypocrite, in order of fingers: lies, injustice, hate, malice, abuse. It’s a strong message by the artist. Hypocrisy is a sin. Many people in the world don’t seem to take it as drastic or as serious, Tartuffe seems to symbolize it to the extremity. It’s scary to know how much damage a hypocrite can cause. I’m not sure why there’s a key in the person’s hand though.
Your thoughts?

In Tartuffe, Tartuffe represents the corruption of the church. He is a very religious man and makes people conceive him in that way: generous, kind, loving, and charming. Although Orgon is completely hypnotized by him, his family and friends believe otherwise. I don’t know why Orgon does not trust the people that are trying to protect. Why do people give in to strangers? Why is it that based on human instinct, most people don’t have one or at least can’t follow them?
This also pertains to today’s teenage generation. We don’t want to listen to our parents when they tell us we can’t do something or hang out with certain people. We’d rather rebel against people who truly care about us because we’d like to believe that our perceptions are correct. As we know and have experienced, our perceptions are not always correct.
Orgon needs to trust his family that Tartuffe is a lie.

I feel that this play revolves around a central theme: hypocrisy. Tartuffe, in French, is translated to “The Hypocrite.” Very interesting. So far, I’ve read that Orgon is very attached to Tartuffe. He is mesmorized by his holiness and flatters him. He actually shows more emotion towards this stranger than his own children. Orgon’s generous offering of affection show how manipulative Tartuffe has become. I am entertained how dumb Orgon is as well. I am very curious of what is to become of him once he finds out Tartuffe is not what he thinks he is.
( I hate Tartuffe..)
